What is Today at Apple?

"At Apple, we believe that people with passion can change the world. In an era of social everything, we want to spark possibility and opportunity in the creative arts, in real life, person to person. That would truly be leaving the world better than we found it."

Where it all started

In my sophomore year, I got into digital design and decided to check out the Apple Store to see if an iPad was the right tool for me. Even though I wasn’t buying anything, I tried Procreate on the demo iPads and instantly loved it. The vibe in the store and the energy around me got me hooked.

What did I do at the Apple Store?

I kept returning to the Apple Store every weekend for five weeks. One day, Shaun, an Apple employee, noticed my sketches and told me about their free design sessions—Today at Apple. I joined a Procreate class and learned how to create digital portraits.

That experience opened my eyes to Today at Apple's mission: to inspire creativity and support people's passions through hands-on learning. It was the moment I realized—I wanted to be part of Apple’s creative team.

Becoming a Creative

When I started as a Creative, I wasn’t bad at presenting—but speaking into a mic always made me nervous. I knew I could teach naturally, but something about that mic threw me off.

So, I practiced in the breakroom, got tips from my team, and pushed through. One day, I delivered an announcement that finally felt like me—confident, clear, and engaging. It even sparked interest at the Forum table.

Within three months, I became the go-to instructor, leading sessions and helping customers bring their ideas to life. I learned to adapt my teaching style to each person’s skill level, all while improving time management and keeping sessions impactful.

Leading with Creativity

Looking ahead, I want to create experiences that help people feel seen and supported—especially those who doubt their creative potential. Just like I overcame my own nerves, I hope to encourage others at Today at Apple to push past their fears and realize they can succeed in their passions.
