Today at Apple
"At Apple, we believe that people with passion can change the world. In an era of social everything, we want to spark possibility and opportunity in the creative arts, in real life, person to person. That would truly be leaving the world better than we found it."
Where it all started
In my sophomore year, I got into digital design and decided to check out the Apple Store to see if an iPad was the right tool for me. Even though I wasn’t buying anything, I tried Procreate on the demo iPads and instantly loved it. The vibe in the store and the energy around me got me hooked.
I kept going back each weekend for five weeks, then one day, Shaun, an Apple employee, noticed my sketches and told me about their free design classes. I joined a Procreate session and learned to create portraits. That experience made me realize I wanted to work at Apple as a creative.
Becoming a Creative
As a Creative, I faced some challenges. I wasn’t terrible at presentations, but speaking into a mic always gave me nerves. Still, I knew I was great at helping customers learn in a natural way. After practicing in the breakroom and getting support from my team, I finally delivered an announcement that felt true to me. It ended up being a cool intro to what was going on at the forum table.
Within three months, I became the go-to instructor, leading small groups and helping people bring their projects to life. I got good at adjusting my teaching style to fit each person’s skill level, making sure I helped them while managing my time better.
