From the Ground Up

Walking through the busy streets of Korea, I couldn’t help but notice how graphic design and visuals are everywhere—especially on billboards. One that stood out was a billboard for a directory map of the Seoul Museum of History, showing all the historical landmarks you could visit. I really connected with the design—it was simple, clear, and visually appealing. It made me think about how I want my own art to feel—something that not only looks good but also has an impact and evokes emotion.

Seoul Illustration Fair

I stumbled upon an amazing opportunity to showcase my designs at the Seoul Illustration Fair (SIF), a popular event where artists and buyers come together to celebrate illustration. It felt like a perfect way to bring my vision to life, especially after being inspired by that billboard. The Seoul Illustration Fair was a three-day whirlwind of amazing art, handmade goods, and great food. The vibe was lively, with tons of people visiting the booths. I stayed busy greeting followers, meeting artists, and chatting with everyone. It was more work than I thought—handling payments, restocking, and making sales solo—but it gave me a real feel for running my own business.
